Key Stage 4 & IGCSEs

Years 9, 10 and 11 are the time when your child will need to think about the IGCSEs they wish to take. The qualifications they undertake will be a mix of compulsory and optional subjects. Generally, our students work towards around 9 IGCSEs over the course of years 10 and 11. Year 9 remains a preparatory year for these important qualifications. Subjects include:

Compulsory IGCSEs

  • English, Maths, ICT, Personal Social Health Education (Non-examinable), Physical Education (PE)  (Non-examinable)

 Optional IGCSEs

  • French, Spanish, Kiswahili, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Food and Nutrition, History, Geography, Business Studies, Music, Art, Drama, BTEC – Performing Arts, BTEC – Sports

 BTEC Level 2

Key Stage 4 students interested in pursuing a more vocational path may also choose to take a level 2 BTEC qualification during this stage. Level 2 BTECs are available in:

  • Sport, Performing Arts

 AS & A levels

The final two years are devoted to studying for further qualifications. It is these all-important AS levels, A levels and BTEC qualifications which will give your child the certification and tools they need to progress academically or professionally.

We offer AS and A level courses right across the curriculum, alongside a number of level 3 BTEC qualifications in:

  • Business, IT, Sports Science, Applied Science
